FINRA v. Seaport Global Securities LLC (Case #2020067409501) – From at least March 2020 to the present, Seaport failed to establish, maintain, and enforce a reasonably designed system, including written supervisory procedures (WSPs), to supervise manual transactions by its options trading desk. Specifically, the firm failed to reasonably supervise its options trading desk in canceling (or busting) and re-executing (or adjusting) manual options transactions and in creating complete and accurate order memoranda in connection with those transactions. Therefore, the firm violated FINRA Rules 3110 and 2010. Additionally, between March 2020 and June 2021, Seaport created incomplete and inaccurate order memoranda for four busted and adjusted manual options orders, in violation of Section 17(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Exchange Act Rule 17a-3(a)(6), and FINRA Rules 4511(a) and 2010.
